Our Client, a leading producer of quality Scottish farmed salmon, has immediate opportunities for Harvest Operators to join their team working on a night shift basis for a period of up to 4 months.
The successful candidates will report into the Harvest Manager or his/her deputy to harvest fish in a consistent manner and to the required standards in accordance with all Food Hygiene, Company Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and all animal welfare recommendations.
The role of the Harvest Operator will include:
• Harvesting fish at any company site as and when required
• Working in a flexible manner in order to meet the needs of the Company
• Participating in the daily harvest process and operations:
o Pre-harvest checks
o Pre-harvest set up of site and equipment prior to harvest
o Harvest process
o Fish swabbing & water/sampling as and when required by Technical
o Post-harvest checks
o Cleaning and Hygiene processes of Harvest station and surrounding areas at the end of each harvest
o Preparing for next day’s harvest
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a similar role however candidates who have experience of working within other manual positions out with the sector will also be considered as full training will be provided. Due to the nature of this position, a degree of physical capability is required.
The Harvest Operators will typically work between 02:00am – 08:00am Monday to Friday or 12:00am – 06:00am Sunday to Monday however flexibility is essential as working hours can vary.
Due to location, free transport is available from Dunoon.
The Harvest Operators will earn a rate of up to £9.30 per hour plus an unsociable hours payment of £16.54 per shift.
