Poultry Processing Plant Operatives

We are currently recruiting dayshift poultry meat processing operatives in partnership with our client in Penicuik. They are a respected higher education institute dedicated to producing specialist research in the rural sector. This is a new plant and high standards of hygiene can be expected. You would work within a relatively small team.

We are looking for long-term, permanent workers. The position does not require previous experience as training will be provided.

The pay rate offered is £11.07 per hour (rising to £11.35 after 3 months, £11.63 after 9 months and £11.92 after 24 months, which is a 7.5% increase over a 24-month period).

The shift pattern is Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Overtime available.

We are also looking for a Hygiene Operative/Cleaner. The shift pattern in 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday.

It is also possible to work part-time. The shifts are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 4pm to 8.30pm. Tuesdays off.

TASKS and DUTIES included in the role:

• Carrying out duties as directed by the Plant Manager/Team Leader.

• Aiding in the production of safe wholesome poultry meat.

• Adhering to good hygienic practices and defined operating procedures, e.g. HACCP, SOP’s, etc.

• Being involved in the processing of poultry, including cutting of carcases and packing of poultry meat.
