HGV Mechanic

Monday to Friday 6.30am - 4.30pm + Overtime at x1.5
£15.00-£20.00 per hour depending on experience

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining of fleet of various lorries, skip loaders, hook loaders, artics, trailers and refuse vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong technical background who are committed to safety and quality standards.

Hours of work are 6:30am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday. Overtime available during the week and also on Saturday, therefore flexibility is desirable.

Salary in region of £15 - £20 per hour based on experience, we will discuss this further during the interview.

Company van provided.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Carrying out repairs and other maintenance on vehicles and machines;
Liaising and reporting to workshop manager and transport manager;
General maintenance across the site;
Complete defects on R2C;
Liaising with suppliers, sourcing parts and comparing prices;
Requirements:

Previous experience in working within this sector is desirable
Ability to work as a part of a team
Punctual
Reliable
Flexible
Have full UK Driving License (Class I and II desirable, but not essential);
Good level of English
Attention to detail
You must have your own tools*
Keen to learn new skills and willing to attend training;
Proven mechanical experience and relevant skills – e.g. NVQs;
High awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental;
