We at Show Racism the Red Card are committed to combating racism in its many forms. We aim to eliminate all forms of racism from society by educating young people in schools and clubs. Our schools pack is composed of a video and an educational support pack. The video features many well known footballers discussing their experiences of racism and how we can eradicate this from our society today.
Most recently there has been much coverage and discussion regarding Racism towards individuals from EU ascension countries. Due to the rise in such incidents and concerns voiced by many organisations working to eliminate racism we are currently undertaking a project to incorporate educational material which addresses this problem. We constructed a pack on racism towards asylum seekers last year, which is being delivered successfully by former Celtic star (Gerry Britton) throughout schools in Scotland. We hope to do the same for the pack tackling racism towards individuals from EU ascension countries.
I am looking for information such as statistics or research on such racist incidents. I would be very interested to hear your views on this subject and would like your input on this issue as I feel that you are best placed to point me in the right direction on this matter.
