We are seeking a diligent and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, who enjoys working with numbers and can maintain confidentiality at all times.
Key Responsibilities
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and prepare regular financial reports for management.
• Process invoices, track accounts payable and receivable, and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
• Support payroll processing and ensure accurate record-keeping of employee expenses.
• Collaborate with external accountants and auditors as required.
• Maintain up-to-date and organised digital and paper filing systems.
Requirements
• Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role (part-time or full-time).
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach.
• Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualifications desirable but not essential.
Working Hours
This is a part-time position, 16 to 20 hours per week. Working days can be discussed and there will be a degree of flexibility to suit the candidate’s availability. However, due to business needs, there will be a requirement to work Mondays and Tuesdays to carry out the sales and cash reporting.
Pay rate: £15 per hour
