Hi again, as its a bit difficult to discuss in the office, here is a bit more information for you.
My friend is 65 years old and has multiple sclerosis. He is in a motorised wheelchair, quite severely paralized and has only partial use of one hand. He has a hoist to get him in and out of bed, and one in the bathroom which is adapted for his needs. At present he has several carers who come in the morning and evening to get him up and put him to bed. He needs help with cleaning, cooking, toilet, bathing, dressing etc. He is a very nice person and has been my friend for many years. My daughter is currently staying with him and she is helping him at the moment. He needs a live-in carer now as he is finding it very difficult to do almost anything on his own.
He lives alone (never married) in a lovely large bungalow with a very large garden in the best part of Folkestone, 10 minutes walk from the cliffs, 20 minutes walk from the shops,town centre, beach and harbour. He is quite near the Channel Tunnel. There is a college nearby which has english lessons. The station is a 10 minute walk with regular trains to London Victoria/Charing Cross.There are plenty of local buses or the town is ideal for cycling. There is a bedroom available upstairs with its own toilet and sink, but they would have to share the main bathroom downstairs which has a shower and a bath. His bedroom is downstairs.
He is trying to bring over a lady from Brazil but this is taking a long time to get her visa approved. He cant find an english lady or girl as they want too much money and he cant afford what they are asking long term. I think he is hoping to pay no more than about £80 per week (standard aupair rate) and of course he will provide food and accomodation. The carer would have a lot of free time during the day in between helping him in which to study or go out as they please. Days off would need to be arranged in advance as he would need someone to come in on those days. They would need to speak some English and have some experience of caring for the elderly or disabled, although no medical knowledge is needed. He needs someone who is kind and caring. He has a special van (Volkswagen Caravelle) with a lift which takes his wheelchair and if the person can drive (and is over 25), they would be able to use the van and take him out also.
thats the situation, if you know of any Polish girl/lady who might be interested in this either for a few months or longer term, then please let me know. It would not be possible to take someone for just a couple of weeks.
