Dutchman Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt is a true legend of the electro world, described as ‘exceptional’ by Bleep.com. A ‘producer’s producer’, he has countless acclaimed releases on the key underground labels Bunker, Clone and Crème Organization, his own rather esoteric label Strange Life, as well as on the globally recognised Ghostly International and Cocoon. Indeed, his prolific productions range from the wonderfully obscure to down right chart-smashing – his Cocoon release ‘Disco Rout’ was voted track of the year in 2002 by the massive German magazine Groove, selling thousands in the process.
Wolfers has also performed his stomping live PA - 'a hybrid form of slam jack combined with deep Chicago House, romantic ghetto technofunk and EuroHorror Soundtrack' - to great effect all over the globe. Unbelievably, this will be his debut Edinburgh appearance – do not miss!
HOUSEMEISTER (Boys Noize, Bpitch Control // Berlin)
Growing up in East Berlin, Housemeister’s deejay skills have long been recognised by the city’s top clubs (and in those all over Europe), his energetic sets filling the gaps between techno, electro and punk - always experimenting and always forward-thinking, Housemeister brings an undeniable spark to the club party.
Allied to this, Housemeister’s productions are also gaining increased recognition – he now has four EPs on Bpitch Control and full length albums on Boys Noize Records and All You Can Beat, whilst having remixed the likes of Modeselektor, Zombie Nation and Boys Noize. His latest, ‘Beef Jerky’, is 100% analogue produced of varied style but invariable quality and excitement.
The second Edinburgh debut of the night - believe the hype!
Completing the main room bill is Substance's resident chieftain Gavin Richardson. Coming out of nowhere, he has consistently proved himself since our beginnings, easily holding his own with the big guns. Gavin's dj sets are always varied in their construction and track choice, seamlessly balancing the understated with the maximal.
