Dwie minuty i po bolu.

Takie ankiety są fajne, bo dają komiczne wyniki.
Pewnie weźmnie w niej udział mniej niż 1% polskiej społeczności w Szkocji, a Ci co wezmą to zwolennicy głosowania na "TAK" bo biorąc pod uwagę moje obserwacje z netu, zwłaszcza portali społecznościowych, to oni mają jakieś skrzywienie ekshibicjonistyczne z tym swoim TAK, choc w świecie realnym, większość z tubylców z którymi rozmawiam jest na NIE, tylko nahalnie nie promują swojego stanowiska w sieci.

W każdym razie, na podstawie ankiety pewnie wyjdzie, że ponad połowa społeczności polskiej popiera szkocką niepodległość podczas gdy faktycznie 90% ma to gdzieś, 7% jest na NIE a tylko 3% na TAK.

Thank you for your e-mail of 13 February to the referendum 2014 website regarding the future of EU citizens living in Scotland. Please accept my apologies for the delay in response, which was caused by the receipt of a large number of enquiries.

As set out in Scotland’s Future, the Scottish Government’s position is for an independent Scotland to continue EU membership. European Union (EU) citizens will enjoy all the benefits that brings, such as the right to free movement to live, study and work in all European Economic Area (EEA) countries, and benefit from the healthcare and social security systems there. EEA national migrants, who move to Scotland to exercise their right to free movement, have a legitimate reason to be here and will always be welcomed - not only for their contribution to our economy but also the vibrancy and diversity they bring to our nation.

It is the policy of the current Scottish Government that an independent Scotland will have an inclusive model of citizenship. Citizens of any country who have spent at least ten years living in Scotland at any time and have an on-going connection with Scotland may apply for naturalisation as a Scottish citizen, subject to meeting good character and other requirements set out under Scottish immigration law.

Scottish citizens will have the right to hold a Scottish passport and will be able to apply for one on day one of independence, although, as in most countries, there will be no requirement to hold one. Scottish passports will carry a fee comparable to that presently required for a UK passport which will be used to cover the administrative and production costs of the passport. The Scottish Government plans to recognise valid UK passports until they expire. This Government will also not place any barriers in the way of Scottish citizens holding dual or multiple nationalities.

British nationality rules will be a matter for the rest of the UK to decide, however the UK already provides for dual citizenship with virtually every other country in the world and the UK Government recently confirmed in their paper Scotland Analysis: Borders and Citizenship that there would likely be ‘no barriers’ to joint citizenship with an independent Scotland.

As regards extradition, the transfer of EU citizens among Member States to face justice takes place under the European Arrest Warrant system. This will continue to operate in Scotland in exactly the same way as it does at present. Since Scotland has always maintained its own justice system, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service is already responsible for the European Arrest Warrant in Scotland, and will continue to be so on independence. The exception will be for nationals of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are already separate arrangements for transferring persons among the jurisdictions of the current UK to face justice. These will continue.
